On January 8, 2006 (last year's winter Kid's Day), the kids made 25 contacts across 40M SSB, 20M SSB & packet, 2M FM and 70cm FM IRLP. Many of the FRRL club members also joined in on the FRRL repeater to give the kids local QSOs.
In less than 4 hours, the young ops made contact with 5 other kids, worked people ranging in age from 6 to 75, and reached 8 states and Canada (and still had time for pizza!).
We'd like to thank the station control ops who made their time available for this event: Greg N9CHA, John K9COE, Eric KC9FQV, and Dean KC9EOQ. Tobi K9TCD and Tom WB9CHY also enjoyed being a part of the event and learned as much as the kids!
